Hello Shipbreakers!
Below you will find a list of the current known issues that the team is working on. Since we are in Early Access, you may experience bugs or encounter crashes, as well as performance issues during massive explosions.
Any bug report or general feedback you have is hugely appreciated as we continue developing the game.
General
-
To save your career mode data, simply end your shift by entering the HAB or abandoning your shift from the pause menu. Please be aware that your Profile Data does not save the current ship in your bay. Each time you quit the application, the ship in your bay will be lost.
-
There may be very rare cases where we will ask the user to send us their Save Data. The save data can be found here:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Blackbird Interactive\Hardspace_ Shipbreaker\Saves\Profiles -
Some users have reported that their save data has become inaccessible as of 0.2.2 - it can be fixed by installing the C++ visual package: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
Gameplay
-
In some specific cases, a violent decompression will occur without activating physics reactions
-
When playing Free Play or Weekly R.A.C.E, the player’s Voice selection may be reverted to 1. This can be changed back any time by switching the voice selection in the pause menu in Career mode.
Weekly R.A.C.E
-
Display bug: If you take the full shift length, your Shift Length stat will display as 0. This is only a display bug.
-
In order to play Weekly R.A.C.E. you must opt in to Data Collection. This can be done by enabling Data Collection in the Options Menu, saving your changes, and then restarting the application. You will also be prompted to accept the terms when accessing Weekly R.A.C.E. if you have not already accepted them.
-
An internet connection is required to communicate with the Weekly R.A.C.E. server, and is therefore required to enter the Weekly R.A.C.E. game mode. If your connection is interrupted during gameplay, you may experience errors and your score may not be recorded.
-
After playing a session of Weekly R.A.C.E. and then switching back to career mode, some statistics for the career mode leaderboards will not be tracked until the user quits the application.
-
After playing Weekly R.A.C.E., pressing the button very quickly to proceed through the menu into another Weekly R.A.C.E. session may incorrectly cause an invalid game state. Players can avoid this by allowing the menu to fully load before proceeding into Weekly R.A.C.E. a second time.
Crashes
-
Please be advised that your crash information is automatically sent up to the cloud - therefore no additional files are needed from our players at this time. However, 100% steps to reproduce an issue are always useful.
-
We have had reports of players who crash immediately, before the game window appears. Some players were able to resolve this by clamping their FPS to 60 in their Video Card driver settings by enabling VSync.
-
Hardspace: Shipbreaker requires CPU hardware that supports SSE 4.2. If playing on an unsupported machine, your game will crash when certain audio is triggered.

Tutorial
-
During the tutorial, players have reported not being able to interact with objects, such as the Airlock Console. If this occurs, please check your Work Order - players must first complete the work order objectives with the tethers and the Twin Nacelles to be able to unlock interactions with any objects.
-
It is occasionally possible for the Player to get stuck in the tutorial by destroying objects before they are required to salvage before the Tutorial asks them to salvage. When this happens, select Abandon Shift from the Pause menu and then resuming Career mode - this will fix the issue
Graphics
- While UI Scaling now supports resolutions higher than 1920x1080, there are still some elements that may not display correctly on 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios.
Localization
-
Some non-English languages are known to not display correctly on all screens; for example it may display as overflowing text or truncated text. You might also find some untranslated texts in all languages.
-
The game may not automatically detect your OS language at launch. You can change the language in the options menu.
