GAME NOT LAUNCHING
Make sure you fulfill the minimum requirements
OS: Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit)
Processor: Intel i3-4130 3.4 GHz / AMD Ryzen 3 2200U 3.4 GHz
Memory: 8 GB
Graphics: 2 GB, GeForce GTX 660 / Radeon R9 270
Storage: 20 GB
Verifying the installation of game files
1. Navigate to SnowRunner in your Library and click on the three dots.
2. Once open, click Verify in the drop-down navigation.
Launch failed error code: LS-0013
1. Navigate to Epic Games > SnowRunner > en_us > Sources > Bin.
2. Right click on SnowRunner.exe application > Properties.
3. Click Compatibility tab.
4. Untick Run this program as an administrator > OK.
NOTE: Please check that there no space after your Epic Games display name.
From the app, click on your Epic Games display name (bottom left) > Manage Account.
The Epic Games display name can be modified under ACCOUNT INFO from GENERAL SETTINGS.
MSVCP140.DLL and VCRUNTIME140.DLL files are missing
Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC:
1. Click https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=52685
2. Download and run the vc_redist.x64.exe application.
3. Download and run the vc_redist.x86.exe application.
Check that Windows 10 is up to date
1. Right click on the Windows Start button > Settings.
2. Click on Update & Security.
3. Click on the Check for updates button from Windows Update.
Update the display driver
It is recommended to perform a clean install of the display driver.
Please use Display Driver Uninstaller application to properly uninstall the display driver.
Display Driver Uninstaller is a driver removal utility that can help you completely uninstall AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers and packages from your system, without leaving leftovers behind (including registry keys, folders and files, driver store).
1. Install Display Driver Uninstaller

2. Run the DDU setup application and extract the DDU folder.
3. Restart your PC in safe mode

4. Open the Display Driver Uninstaller folder and run the Display Driver Uninstaller.exe application.
5. Select the graphics card (AMD GPU or NVIDIA GPU) and click on the Clean and restart (Highly recommended) button.
6. Install the new display driver.

Update the audio driver
1. Right click on the Windows Start button > Device Manager.
2. Open Sound, video and game controllers.
3. Right click on the default audio device (e.g., Realtek High Definition Audio) > Update driver.
Windows 10 Insider Preview Build
SnowRunner may not be fully compatible with the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview Build version.
Please note that the Windows 10 Insider Builds can be buggy and include unfinished features.
To opt-out of the Windows Insider Program:
1. Right click on the Windows Start button > Settings.
2. Click on Update & Security.
3. Click on Windows Insider Program.
4. Click on the Stop Insider Preview builds button.

Install the Platform Update for Windows 7 64-bit:

2. Download and open the Windows6.1-KB2670838-x64.msu file.
GAME CRASHING AT STARTUP

Verifying the installation of game files
1. Navigate to SnowRunner in your Library and click on the three dots.
2. Once open, click Verify in the drop-down navigation.
Closing background applications
Third-party applications running in the background may interfere with SnowRunner.
Please disable temporarily these applications and search which application is interfering with the game:
1. Right click on the Windows Start button > Task Manager.
2. Click on the Startup tab (click on More details to display the tabs).
3. Restart the computer.
GAME CRASHING WHILE PLAYING
A. SnowRunner could be unstable on some systems when the frame rate is too high.
This issue could be resolved by turning on the Vertical Synchronization from the video settings.
B. Please delete the video.dat file in order to reset completely the video settings:
1. Open Windows Explorer or File Explorer from the taskbar.
2. Navigate to Documents > My Games > SnowRunner > base > storage.
3. Delete the video.dat file.
MOUSE ISSUES
1. Navigate to Epic Games > SnowRunner > en_us > Sources > Bin.
2. Right click on SnowRunner.exe application > Properties.
3. Click Compatibility tab.
4. Click Change high DPI settings button.
5. Check Override high DPI scaling behaviour.
6. Set Scaling performed by to Application.
NOTE: if you cannot change the gear with the mouse while holding the Left Shift key, please restore to default the controls from SETTINGS > CONTROLS.
GAME DATA NOT SAVING OR GONE
1. Open Windows Security.
2. Open Virus & threat protection.
3. Click on Manage ransomware protection under Ransomware protection.
4. Click on Allow an app through Controlled folder access.
5. Click on Add an allowed app > Browse all apps.
6. Navigate to Epic Games > SnowRunner > en_us > Sources > Bin.
7. Select SnowRunner.exe application and click Open button.
8. Close Windows Security.
HOW TO RESTORE A SAVED GAME
SnowRunner performs a local backup of your save folder:
1. Open Windows Explorer or File Explorer from the taskbar.
2. Navigate to Documents > My Games > SnowRunner > base > storage.
3. Rename your Epic Games Account ID folder.
4. Create a new folder with the name of your Epic Games Account ID folder
5. Navigate to backupSlots > Epic Games Account ID folder.
6. Sort the backup folders by date then choose and open a backup.
7. Select all files and copy.
8. Go back to the storage folder and open your new Epic Games Account ID folder.
9. Paste all files.
10. Run SnowRunner.
MULTIPLAYER: CANNOT HOST/JOIN
A. Allow SnowRunner through Windows Defender Firewall:
1. Right click on the Windows Start button > Network Connections.
2. Click on Windows Firewall.
3. Click on Allow an app through firewall.
4. Click the Change settings button.
5. Scroll down to SnowRunner.
6. Check that Private and Public are ticked.
If SnowRunner is not listed:
1. Click the Allow another app button.
2. Click the Browse button and navigate to Epic Games > SnowRunner > en_us > Sources > Bin.
3. Select SnowRunner.exe application and click the Open button.
4. Click the Network types button.
5. Check Private and Public then click the OK button.
6. Click the Add button.
7. Click the OK button to close Windows Defender Firewall.
B. Enable UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) in Windows 10:
1. Right click on the Windows Start button > Network Connections.
2. Click on Sharing options.
3. Click on Turn on Network discovery.
4. Click the Save changes button.
For a NAT Type Strict issue, please forward the following ports from your router:

MULTIPLAYER: CANNOT PLAY WITH FRIENDS
1. Open Friends from Epic Games application.
2. Delete all friends from the Friend List.
3. Restart Epic Games application.
4. Add your friend(s).
KNOWN ISSUES
The game image may be stretched in FULLSCREEN mode on 16:10 monitors and higher.
For 16:10 aspect ratio and wider resolutions, please set the display mode to BORDERLESS instead FULLSCREEN.
